2016 NJUST Degree Program Admission for International Students

 

  1. Enrollment Plan

NJUST offers both Chinese taught program and English taught program for undergraduates and postgraduates. One can visit admission information website of NJUST (http://study.njust.edu.cn/wourseswwrograms/list.htm) for more information about majors.

2. Entry Requirements:

1) Admission is open to non-Chinese citizens who are in good health.

2) Educational background and age limit:

  • For undergraduates: applicants are less than 28 years old with a high school certificate;

  • For Master programs: applicants are less than 35 years old with a bachelor degree certificate;

  • For Doctoral programs: applicants are less than 40 years old with a Master degree certificate.

3) Academic Requirements:

i. Academic scores must be 60% above;

ii. Language Requirements:

  • Applicants who apply for Chinese taught programs must have the HSK result above level 4.

  • Applicants who apply for English taught program must have the IELTS score 5.5 above or TOFEL score 75 above;

3. How to Apply

Applicants are both required to apply online and mail two hard copies of application package to the school. Notes: Application materials will NOT be returned regardless of the result.

If you cannot access online application, please download NJUST application form for International Students, please complete the form and mail the required application materials together with the application form to the school.

1. Online Application

  1. Apply online via http://admission.njust.edu.cn/

  2. Fill in the information as instructed and upload scanned materials correspondingly.

2. Application materials should include:

  1. Printed NJUST Application Form for International Students online with signature and date, the form can be automatically generated after applying online.

Undergraduates applicants who want to apply for English taught program are required to fill in three majors for option.

  1. Copy of passport information page

  2. Copy of the last diploma and official transcripts. If the above materials are neither in Chinese nor in English, one has to present notarized Chinese or English version.

  • Undergraduates applicants shall submit transcripts of high school records;

  • Master programs applicants shall submit transcripts of undergraduate records;

  • Doctoral programs applicants shall submit transcripts of undergraduate and postgraduate records.

Notes: If applicants are enrolled as current university students in China, they also have to submit the school certificate and approved transfer letter from their previous universities.

  1. Language Proficiency Certificate

  • For English taught program applicants: copy of official IELTS certificate or TOFEL certificate.

  • For Chinese taught program applicants: original HSK certificate.

  1. Research Plan with no less than 800 words for postgraduateapplicants

  • Master programs applicants and Doctoral programs applicants need to submit study and research plan with more than 800 words, written in English or Chinese. It includes educational background, working experiences, research achievements, future research interest and research plan during their studies leading to master or doctoral degree, personal career planning after graduation and so on.

  • Undergraduate applicants need to submit reports with more than 800 words on their intention to study at NJUST written in English or Chinese. It is about the educational background, working experiences, motivation studying at NJUST, reasons for choosing majors, personal career planning after graduation and so on.

  1. Reference Letters

  • For Master or Doctoral programs applicants: Please provide two supporting reference letters from professor or associate professor at their institutions either in English or in Chinese.

Notes: Contact phone number and email of the professor should be included.

  1. Academic papers, research achievements (if applicable).

  2. Provisional Consent Form (if applicable).

Postgraduate applicants are encouraged to contact relative professors who are willing to supervise their proposed study at NJUST. ‘Provisional Consent Form’ is expected to be completed by the professor and enclosed in application package. http://study.njust.edu.cn/62/9a/c4401a90778/page.htm (for download)

  1. Photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form (Physical examination record.pdf)you shall fill out the form in English and keep the original.

  • The medical examination must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. Medical examination results will be valid for 6 months. All applicants are kindly requested to take this factor into consideration as they plan to take the medical examination.

Our university receives and offers Chinese Government Scholarship, Jasmine Jiangsu Government Scholarship and NMG-NJUST Scholarship. Please refer to the related websites for details on the scholarship. All excellent applicants are warmly welcome to join NJUST. Each student can only get one kind of scholarship. Scholarship applicants are only required to fill out Scholarship Application Form instead of NJUST Application Form for International Students.

If one fails to win the scholarship and wants to study at his/her own expenses, he/she shall apply online again without mailing the hardcopy materials.

  1. Review and Admission

  1. Please pay attention to ones application status in the application system accordingly, and if one is enrolled, the application status becomesEnrolled. The school will send him/her Admission Notice after one has been enrolled, so please ensure the e-mail address and mailing address is correct.

  2. On the registration day, one is required to pay 500 yuan as mailing and application fees.
