2017 NJUST Graduates Admission for International Students

1.Enrollment Plan

NJUST Graduate Admission offers both English taught and Chinese taught programs to international students with abundant scholarships. Currently, 12 PhD discipline and 16 Master discipline are made available in English medium; 24 PhD programs and 120 Master Programs are made available in Chinese medium. Applicants from all over the world are welcome to apply for graduate programs in NJUST. Please visit admission information website of NJUST (http://study.njust.edu.cn/wrospectivewtudents/list.htm) for more information about majors and scholarships.


2.Application Prerequisites:

a)Admission is open to non-Chinese citizens who are in good health.

b)Educational background and age limit

sFor Master programs: applicants are less than 35 years old with a bachelor degree certificate;

sFor Doctoral programs: applicants are less than 40 years old with a Master degree certificate.

c)Academic Requirements:

sAcademic scores must be 60% above;

d)Language Requirements

sApplicants who apply for Chinese taught programs must have the HSK result above level 4.

sApplicants who apply for English taught program must have the IELTS score 5.5 above or TOFEL score 75 above.

Note: Please DO NOT mail original documents. Unsuccessful application materials will not be returned.


4.Application Materials include:

1)Printed ‘NJUST Application Form for International Students’ online with signature and date.

2)Copy of passport information page,

3)Copy of the latest school diploma and official transcripts. If the above materials are neither in Chinese nor in English, one has to present notarized Chinese or English version.

Notes: If applicants are enrolled as current university students in China, they also have to submit the school certificate or approved transfer letter from their previous institutions.

4) Language Proficiency Certificate

sFor English taught program applicants: copy of official IELTS certificate or TOFEL certificate.

sFor Chinese taught program applicants: copy of HSK certificate.

5) Motivation Letter

Applicant is encouraged to submit reports with more than 800 words on their intention to study at NJUST written in English or Chinese. It is about the educational background, working experiences, motivation studying at NJUST, reasons for choosing majors, personal career planning after graduation and so on.

6) Research Plan with no less than 800 words for postgraduate applicants

sMaster programs applicants and Doctoral programs applicants need to submit study and research plan with more than 800 words, written in English or Chinese. It includes educational background, working experiences, research achievements, future research interest and research plan during their studies leading to master or doctoral degree, personal career planning after graduation and so on.

7) Reference Letters

sPlease provide two supporting reference letters from professor or associate professor at their institutions either in English or in Chinese.

Notes: Contact phone number and email of the professor should be included.

8) Academic papers, research achievements (if applicable).

9) Provisional Consent Form (if applicable).

sGraduate applicants are encouraged to contact relative professors who are willing to supervise their proposed study at NJUST. ‘Provisional Consent Form’ is expected to be completed by the professor and enclosed in application package.

10) Photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form (Physical examination record.pdf) you shall fill out the form in English and keep the original.

sThe medical examination must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. Medical examination results will be valid for 6 months. All applicants are kindly requested to take this factor into consideration as they plan to take the medical examination.

sFrom 30th June to 30th July.
